Highlights
After the adoption of the Appropriation Resolution, the closing ceremony of the 42nd session of the General Conference will take place in Room I with the addresses from the Director-General and the President of the General Conference.
During the closure ceremony, you are invited to join the celebration of diversity and unity through the language of music with the UNESCO Choir, led by Connie Glessner and the Musical and Artistic Director Cyrille Kirilov鈥痮n the piano. The Choir will perform鈥痶he鈥淕loria鈥, an extract鈥痜rom鈥痶he鈥淢isa a Buenos Aires鈥 (known as鈥淢isatango")鈥痓y鈥疢art铆n Palmeri, featuring Kl谩ra Csord谩s, mezzo-soprano, and Philippe Picot, bandon茅on.
Founded in 1990 by Maestro Jorge Lozano-Corres and under his leadership until March 2016, the UNESCO Choir and Orchestra performs at official ceremonies and events at UNESCO and鈥痑t鈥痸arious locations within Paris, often for鈥痶he benefit of humanitarian causes. The Choir includes active and retired UNESCO staff members, interns, members of Permanent Delegations and Embassies, NGOs and other organizations.

24th session of the General Assembly of the States Parties to the 1972 Convention concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage
The will be held at UNESCO Headquarters from 22 to 23 November 2023.鈥疶he meeting will be held in Room II, except for the morning of Wednesday 22 November when the session will take place in Room XI.
The General Assembly will be called upon, inter alia, to replace the nine outgoing members of the World Heritage Committee and will also determine the amount of the contributions of States Parties to the World Heritage Fund in accordance with the provisions of Article 16 of the World Heritage Convention. Please also note that an extraordinary session of the World Heritage Committee will take place on 23 November 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Room IV.
Staff Associations of UNESCO
Throughout the General Conference, you will find the stands of UNESCO at Mall (Floor -1). The main objectives of Staff Associations are to safeguard the collective and individual rights of their members in their professional capacity, to preserve and strengthen the unity of the Secretariat as a body of international civil servants, ensure satisfactory working conditions, to improve staff members' status and morale, aid those in difficulty, and organize cultural and recreational activities for UNESCO staff.
UNESCO'GO P.A.R.T.Y.
As per well-established practice UNES鈥橤O invites you to celebrate the End of the 42nd General Conference.
The P.A.R.T.Y will take place on Wednesday 22 November in the 鈥凌别蝉迟补耻谤补苍迟鈥 (UNESCO Fontenoy 鈥 7th floor) starting at 7:00 PM.
This event has no cost for the Organization. (Volunteers for the logistic 鈥 Free entrance 鈥 Drinks for sale)
The music will be eclectic: Mainly Hit and Dance, Party goodies, Old goodies, but also a mix of world music: Latino, Middle Eastern music, Afro-beat, Zouk, Salsa, Merengue, Reggae...
No dress code: Come as you are!
After a hard period of work, let鈥檚 party in a cool and multi-cultural ambiance!
