The training course in detail

IBM SkillsBuild for Adult Learners provides career-based digital skills training, project-based learning, and digital credentials designed to help gain the skills needed to secure an entry-level tech job or to upskill or update knowledge in areas of emerging technology, digital and professional skills.  

IBM SkillsBuild for High Schools brings together self-paced learning in emerging technologies and foundational workplace skills, workshops, and digital credentials for Students and Educators. For partners, wrap around services such as learning workshops, teacher training and teacher toolkits are available.  

IBM SkillsBuild for Academia provides college students with digital credentials, access to software and a library of university guest lectures across data science, AI, security and more. Partnerships include access to IBM software, expertise to enable faculty to deliver training, deep learning through capstone projects, customized live virtual events, and faculty training coursework.

Create an account in IBM SkillsBuild and enroll in free, certifiable project-based, guided learning programs in AI and cybersecurity by 14th June, 2024!

A teacher toolkit is provided for the High School student version. For partners, there is access to IBM Career Conversations with IBM volunteers, train the trainer support, and pilot funding opportunities. 

  • Self-paced learning is unlimited and always free
  • Live-virtual training programs offered to partners vary in size depending upon demand.

  • Priority populations include women, underrepresented minorities, economically disadvantaged, veterans, neurodivergent, and refugees.  
  • Trainings are targeted to adults, students, trainers, job seekers, entrepreneurs, everyone!

  • A basic level of computer literacy is required to gain access and maneuver around the application, as is an email address.  
  • IBM SkillsBuild may be used on a laptop/desktop, tablet, or smartphone, and requires internet connectivity.
