Ecological Characteristics
The OKM Complex has a varied topography dominated by river basins and vast plains, which are at the origin of the different ecosystems found in the area. The main vegetation formations include Sudano-Guinean savannah with trees. Because of this vegetation, thecomplex is home tovaried fauna rich mainly in savannah species.
Socio-Economics Characteristics
The region is undergoing significant infrastructure development that can promote the enhancement of the multitude of cultural elements such as the Tata of Koutamatou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the biological potential with the presence of large mammals. This wealth constitutes the basic element for the development of ecotourism in the area.
