Type of resource: Recording of a past event (workshop, webinar, etc.)
Languages: English
Expert entity: CIVICA Alliance - European University of the Social Sciences
Description

Dr Frances Pinter and Emily Poznanski led this first session in the CIVICA Research Open Science for the Social Sciences Training Programme with a workshop on Open Access Book Publishing: What Authors Need to Know. Book publishing is in great flux as it responds to the newly mandated requirements of research funders that books and book chapters arising out of funded research are to be open access.

This session aimed to de-mystify what this means for you and how these changes impact on your ambitions to be published. Participants learnt about how open access sits within the open science framework, the new business models that are emerging, understand the open access terminology and how open access is funded. Copyright and licensing in the open access space were also covered.
