Who are the GEP members?

The GEP network is an open global platform comprised of Member States and other stakeholder organizations which includes inter-governmental organizations, civil society, youth, academia, and the private sector. Each member is welcome to join any or all of the four working groups on Greening schools, curriculum, teacher training and education systems’ capacities and communities. The GEP is governed by an Advisory Board, and each of the four working groups is co-coordinated by three organisations (more information below).

As of November 2024, the GEP is a growing community of practice comprised of 96 Member States and over 1,600 organizations.

GEP Advisory Group

The activities of the GEP are guided by an Advisory Group which is currently composed of 3 Member States (one of the co-convenors of GEP, current and in-coming COP Presidency countries), 3 Civil Society Organizations, 2 foundations/private sector representatives, 2 youth organizations, inter-governmental entity, and the Secretariat. The Group provides support and advice on the relevance, impact and direction of GEP activities.

GEP Working Groups

The GEP currently has four working groups in its four areas of transformative education (Greening schools, curriculum, teacher training and education systems’ capacities and communities), as well as ad hoc groups focussing on higher education and youth. The activities of the four groups are co-coordinated by three organisations respectively.
