Observatory of the social and ethical impact of artificial intelligence (OdiseIA)

Overview of the organization
OdiseIA is a non-profit, independent association that provides a platform for debate and action around the ethical use of AI. It was founded in November 2019 by 10 individual professionals who collectively believed in the need for an ethical and responsible use of artificial intelligence. In 2024, OdiseIA has over 150 members (individual experts, companies, universities, institutions) and has become an international reference for ethical AI.
Project and activity overview
OdiseIA, in collaboration with Deloitte, is collaborating with the Spanish government for developing an ethical AI trust seal, operating the regulatory sandbox for the AI Act and defining tasks for the Spanish AI Supervisory Agency (AESIA). In 2024, OdiseIA launched a new project with support from Google.org, Google¡¯s philanthropy, as part of Google.org's Digital Futures Project, a $20 million fund dedicated to supporting researchers, organize convenings, and foster debate on public policy solutions to encourage the responsible development of AI. OdiseIA's research focus is on AI governance and the future of work for vulnerable groups. OdiseIA also supports ethical impact assessments of AI in a variety of sectors such as technology, telecom, manufacturing, healthcare and defence.
