Julio A. Pertuze, PhD

Professional background
Dr. Pertuzé holds a MSc. In Technology and Policy and Ph.D. in Systems Engineering, both from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). His main research areas are technology management and science, technology, and innovation policy. He served as Chile’s vice minister of economy between 2020 and 2022. Previously, he was a national advisor to Chile’s Science and Technology Council, the Council for Telecommunications, and the President of Chile’s National Standards Institute. Internationally, he was Chair of APEC’s Digital Economy Steering Group (2019) and worked as a consultant for UNESCO in developing Chile’s Readiness Assessment Methodology (RAM).
