Dr Rachel Adams is the Founder and CEO of the Global Centre on AI Governance, an Africa-based research collective shaping equitable futures, which houses the African Observatory on Responsible AI and the Global Index on Responsible AI. Rachel is a Research Associate of the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence, University of Cambridge, and of The Ethics Lab at the University of Cape Town. She serves on numerous international expert committees including for UNESCO, the UN, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Global Partnership on AI. She is the author of The New Empire of AI: The Future of Global Inequality (coming out on 22nd November 2024).
