The GEM Report and the co-hosted a consultation on the 2023 GEM Report on technology and education focusing on instruction and teacher development in Sub-Saharan Africa. The event, organized with the support from HP, gathered policy makers and experts to discuss how education systems can support teachers to use technology effectively.
The event had opening statements by Hon Reginah Mhaule, Deputy Minister of Basic Education, South Africa; Catherine Appiah-Pinkrah, Director, General Administration, Ministry of Education, Ghana; and Manos Antoninis, Director, UNESCO GEM Report followed by a discussion with more than 100 policymakers from Sub-Saharan Africa.
