Despite making up the majority of the global teaching workforce, women remain underrepresented in education leadership positions. The newly launched 2025 Gender Report Women Lead for Learning highlights the persistent 鈥済lass ceiling鈥 that prevents women from moving into decision-making roles in schools, ministries, and higher education institutions.

This gender disparity has widespread implications. Women leaders are often linked to more inclusive, collaborative school cultures, greater support for teachers, and policies that better address the needs of girls. The report emphasizes the need for urgent structural reforms to ensure that women can access leadership roles and reshape education systems to be more equitable and effective.

In support of the global #SheLeads campaign, this webinar will bring together education stakeholders for the first time  to discuss the report's findings, share lived experiences of female school leaders and highlight strategies for empowering more women to lead in education.

The event will:

  • Share key findings from Women Lead for Learning on gender disparities in education leadership.
  • Showcase the impact of women鈥檚 leadership on inclusion, teaching quality, and student outcomes.
  • Identify practical strategies to support women鈥檚 progression into leadership roles.
  • Amplify voices of women education leaders globally, particularly from the Global South.
