The SDG4 High-Level Steering Committee's (HLSC) Functional Areas are interrelated and together create an overall enabling environment for accelerating progress towards the SDG4-Education 2030 agenda by facilitating global and regional cooperation on better evidence use for policy, data and monitoring, and financing.

The Global Education Cooperation Mechanism supports time-bound initiatives developed by coalitions of countries or partners, driven by country priorities, and guided by the High-Level Steering Committee’s global set of thematic focus areas.
