Higher Education Task Team
Who we are
In line with SDG4 target 4.3 "By 2030, ensure equal access for all women and men to affordable and quality technical, vocational and tertiary education, including university", the objectives pursued by the RCG4 WCA higher education task team are the following:
Bringing together the major stakeholders of the higher education sub-sector, in view of reaching a synergy of activities and sharing best practices;
Carrying out sub-thematic monitoring actions on governance, bachelor's master's doctorate system’s reform, quality assurance, professionalization, management of higher education’s information systems;
Creating and feeding an information portal on higher education, in West and Central Africa, with the involvement of all stakeholders;
Developing an analysis and monitoring framework for SDG4 activities, on higher education.

What we do
UNESCO Dakar Office serves as network Secretariat and facilitate the coordination of its work, with the support of the CAMES General Secretariat.
The Steering Committee of the task team was constituted during a launch workshop at the margins of the 39th session of the Inter-African Consultative Committee, African and Malagasy Council for Higher Education (Conseil africain et malgache pour l’enseignement supérieur, CAMES) on 17 July 2017. The committee gathers periodically during the year, at least once in a face-to-face meeting, for the adoption of an action plan, accompanied by a budget and a resource mobilization strategy.
