教育能够改变生活，且居于联合国教科文组织建设和平、消除贫困和推动可持续发展使命的核心。教育应是全民享有的一项终身人权。教科文组织是唯一肩负教育领域各个层面任务的联合国机构。它被赋予通过可持续发展目标4（厂顿骋4）引领《2030年教育议程》的职责。
教科文组织在全球和区域范围内引导教育发展，强化世界各地教育体系，通过以性别平等为基本原则的教育应对当代全球挑战。教科文组织的工作涵盖从学前教育到高等教育及其他层面的教育发展问题。

As the African Union celebrates 2024 as year of education, UNESCO and the SDG4 High-Level Steering Committee want to leverage the voices of education champions, including youth, teachers, political leaders, influencers, civil society, and the private sector to continue growing the global movement for education on the African continent and beyond.
UNESCO is teaming up with the internationally acclaimed Ivorian band, Magic System, to launch a new version of the band’s hit song ‘Magic in the Air’. Entitled ‘Education in the Air’, the song has been rewritten to promote the message that education is key to unlock Africa’s economic and human potential.
