The objective of the project, implemented in partnership with Safe Havens Freedom Talks, was to organize a 2-3 day stay for artists and activists in the field of artistic freedom in Greece, prior to the 2023 Safe Havens Conference. Artists exchanged in round tables and thematic workshop “hives”, deliberating on needs, opportunities and artist-to-artist solidarity support. The sessions also included artistic expressions and cross-disciplinary artistic “jam sessions” in order to encourage the artist's perspective on the issues. After the artists’ sessions, the full spectra of the field of artistic freedom/Safe Havens gathered at the Safe Havens Conference in Athens. Having had time to prepare and to mobilise a unique communal vocality, the artists presented the findings and conclusions from their hives. An initiated researcher has been commissioned to follow the process and deliver a report on the recommendations issued through the project.
