Presentation
The project, led by CIESAS, focuses on empowering cultural agents (CAs), particularly young people aged 13-25 and women, in two regions of Jalisco, Mexico: Talpa de Allende and San Juan de los Lagos. These regions, known for their significant shrines and pilgrimages, hold substantial cultural, economic and ecological importance.
The initiative aims to:
- Empower women and young people as key cultural actors.
- Foster cultural networks and strengthen digital skills.
- Raise awareness of the social impact of cultural activities.
- Influence public policies to support the cultural and creative sectors within Jalisco.
How does this project contribute to the implementation of the 2005 Convention?
- Promote cultural diversity: The project supports structural change to encourage the diversity of cultural expressions among youth and women.
- Enhance cross-sectoral collaboration: It fosters cooperation among municipal stakeholders and cultural and creative industries (CCIs), strengthening local governance for culture.
