The African Scientific Conference on Advancing the Blue Economy in Africa aims to address the critical challenges hindering the sustainable use of the continent’s ocean, coastal, and inland water resources.
Organized by the IOC Sub-Commission for Africa and the Adjacent Island States (IOCAFRICA), in collaboration with GOOS-Africa and KMFRI, the conference will convene experts from academia, government, industry, and civil society to address critical challenges facing the sustainable development of Africa’s ocean, coastal, and inland water resources.
Through thematic sessions on marine governance, climate resilience, innovation, and sustainable resource management, the conference will promote science-based policymaking, regional cooperation, and inclusive strategies to advance a resilient and economically viable blue economy across the continent.
