Celebration of the 60th Anniversary of Sudan being with UNESCO in the Khartoum / Omdurman / Bahry metropolis

 

On 27th of November 2016 the Khartoum office of UNESCO and the Sudanese National Commission for Education, Science and Culture organized an event on occasion of the 60th anniversary of Sudan’s Membership to UNESCO. The celebration took place in the National Museum of Archaeology, which, being a result of famous Nubian Campaign of 1960-70-s, is a good evidence of fruitfulness of the Sudan-UNESCO partnership. About 200 people from the UNESCO’s circle, including representatives of UNESCO Chairs, UNESCO Programmes, and international community, participated in the event.

 

The opening ceremony was honored by the Minister of Education, H.E. Dr. Souad Abdelrazig, who is chairing the Sudanese National Commission, and the Minister of Culture, Mr. Altayeib Hassan Badawi. They welcomed participants highlighting the importance of UNESCO for the country. The General Secretary of the National Commission, Dr. Abdulgadir Noureddin, also was in welcoming chorus. The Head of the Khartoum office of UNESCO, H.E. Dr. Pavel Kroupkine, passed .

 

Then the Khartoum office, Secretariat of the National Commission and its Committees presented achievements, actualities and strategic outlines of their activities in Sudan.
