Francois Hollande receives UN Secretary-General and UNESCO Director-General

On 29 April, French President Francois Hollande invited the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon, and the Director-General of UNESCO, Irina Bokova, along with the Heads of UN agencies, to a meeting at the Elysees Palace.
Among other issues, the meeting was an opportunity to discuss the current crisis in Nepal, after the devastating earthquake that struck the country on 25 April 2015, the situation in Syria and Iraq, as well as the preparation of COP21.
The United Nations Chief Executives Board for Coordination (CEB) is holding its first regular session for 2015 at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris on 29 and 30 April 2015, at the invitation of the Director-General.
The CEB meeting brings together, twice a year, the UN heads of agencies, funds and programmes, under the chairmanship of the UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon. Its function is to further coordination and cooperation on a broad range of substantive and management issues facing the United Nations.
