On 25-28 April 2018, the UNESCO Chair for Women in Sciences and Technology and Darbakan Charity Organization organized a Festival dedicated to promoting the Sudanese Hilo-Mor drink. The festival activities included a historical overview of Hilo-Mor drink since 1860, when Ms. Amna Abdelrazig Al Fahal from the Berber town invented it as a cold drink for the Ramadan holy month, and lessons for participants on how to prepare this drink. The event took place in Khartoum’s Green Park, and attracted attention of approximately 500 people per day. The organizers sold about 600 packs with a sourdough for producing approximately 8 liters of drink each.
