On 5 December 2022, Iceland deposited with the Director-General its instrument of accession to the Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict and its First Protocol (The Hague, 14 May 1954).

In accordance with the terms of Article 33(2) of the Convention and Article 10(b) of its Protocol, the Convention and its First Protocol will enter into force with respect to Iceland three months after the deposit of this instrument, that is to say on 5 March 2023.
