Launch of the highlights of the Global Report on Teachers and Global Teacher Prize awarding ceremony
In an unprecedented joint event, UNESCO is joining forces with the International Task Force on Teachers for Education 2030 (TTF), the Varkey Foundation, and Dubai Cares to bring a spotlight on teachers.
UNESCO and the Teacher Task Force will present the highlights of the first Global Report on Teachers during the award ceremony of the 2023 laureate of The Varkey Foundation’s Global Teacher Prize which this year is held in collaboration with Dubai Cares.
First part - Presenting the highlights of UNESCO and Teacher Task Global Report on Teachers
- Presentation of the comprehensive data and perspectives on global teacher challenges and providing actionable recommendations for teacher recruitment and retention
- Ministerial panel addressing critical issues on teacher shortages
- Poetry recital by the young laureated poet, Ms Alexandra Huynh
Second Part - Global Teacher Prize 2023
- Honouring exceptional educators making a significant impact on the profession
- Showcasing prestigious USD 1 million prize winner and nine finalists selected from a pool of over 8,000 nominations across 121 countries
- Musical performance curated by Ms Rachel Modest
The event will be held in the presence of UNESCO’s Director General, Ms Audrey Azoulay, joined by the founder of the Varkey Foundation and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Education Partnerships Mr Sunny Varkey.
