"Living to tell. Telling to live” – from 1943 to 2023

January 27th is the International Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Holocaust.
To leave a mark for this important day, we will promote a webinar to discuss and watch firsthand the #ContarParaViver (#TellingtoLive) campaign on Thursday the 26th, at 11 am. This campaign was created by Cappuccino Digital, which is part of a group of agencies led by Weber Shandwick, UNESCO Brasilia, the Holocaust Museum of Curitiba and the Israeli Confederation of Brazil (Conib).
We are losing living Holocaust survivors – who are, on average, 84 years old – and it is urgent to keep these stories alive. A UNESCO study with the World Jewish Congress reveals that 49% of Holocaust posts on Telegram deny or distort facts. Furthermore, cases of violence as result of hate and intolerance is growing in Brazil. Therefore, we must tell and share stories of survivors of intolerance as a symbol of resistance, precisely to keep them alive so that we never give space to denialism, intolerance, and hatred.
The reasons for this conversation are fundamental.
The webinar will feature Marlova Jovchelovitch Noleto, Director and Representative of UNESCO in Brazil; Carlos Reiss, Coordinator-General of the Holocaust Museum in Curitiba (Brazil), Member of the executive committee of the Latin American Network for the Teaching of Shoá (Laes) and Member of the curatorial team of the Memorial to the Victims of the Holocaust in Rio de Janeiro; Cao Hamburger, Author, Director and Film producer; Vitor Elman, Co-president of Cappuchino Digital; and two participants of the campaign, who will tell us their own stories: Dona Ruth Sprung, a survivor of the Holocaust, and Naia Tupinamba, a victim of xenophobia.
