Priority Gender Equality Training

I feel more confident in developing gender-transformative programmes

On Wednesday 18 September, Ms Saniye Gülser Corat, UNESCO’s Director for Gender Equality,   delivered UNESCO’s mandatory training on Priority Gender Equality at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris with assistance from Mr Damiano Giampaoli.

Twenty-six participants joined the training, which provides staff with necessary knowledge and skills to foster gender equality in their daily work. According to one of the participants, the training provided useful and engaging solutions to promote gender equality through interactive activities. Another participant declared feeling more confident now in developing gender-transformative programmes.

The training also provided a safe-space for participants to ask questions about UNESCO’s Priority Gender Equality and propose new ideas. A lively Q&A session took place on different subjects, such as gender in the current mobility policy, programmes focusing on men and boys, LGBT issues, and gender parity in the Secretariat.
