Save The Date for the "Arab Regional Ministerial Webinar on Traditional pharmacopeia, sport values and COVID-19"

The ministerial webinar on 鈥淭raditional pharmacopoeia, sport values and COVID-19 in the Arab region鈥 will be organized on May 26 by the Secretariat with the support of the UNESCO Regional Bureau for Education for the Arab States in Beirut, under the leadership of the Chairperson of the Bureau of the Seventh Session of the Conference of Parties to the Convention (COP7) (Dominican Republic) and the COP7 Bureau Vice-Chairperson from the Arab Region (Saudi Arabia), and the moderation of the Rapporteur of the COP7 Bureau (United Kingdom).

Leveraging on the UNESCO International Bioethics Committee (IBC) Report on traditional medicine systems and their ethical implications (2013)[1], the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage[2] (2003), as well as on the WHO encouragement to integrate T&CM and conventional medicine to identify converging areas to tackle current health challenges, the discussion will focus on the possible effects of traditional pharmacopoeia in the anti-doping context, in order to inform the general debate and to highlight the main trends in the management of the current anti-doping system.
