The Second Multi-Stakeholder Advisory Council Meeting

The event was organized by UNESCO, the Agency of Information and Mass Communications under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).

UNESCO international expert Simon Ellis delivered a presentation on the technical aspects of assessing internet universality indicators. Presentations also covered technical assessments, digital accessibility, and the legal framework governing Uzbekistan’s digital space, including findings on digital accessibility made on the “all based” principle, as well as insights into internet openness, multi-stakeholder participation, and relevant legislative considerations. shared insights, discussed key challenges, and provided recommendations to enhance internet universality in the country.

This event is part of a three-year program aimed at strengthening access to information, promoting digital rights, and fostering institutional transparency, funded by the SDC and the UNESCO Multi-Donor Program on the Safety of Journalists.
