Teaching and learning with living heritage: a driver of educational relevance, innovative heritage safeguarding and well-being
14:00-14:45 in the Partnerships Hub (Halle Saxe)
UNESCO, together with its partners, is supporting learning and teaching with intangible cultural heritage through its intersectoral programme on Safeguarding intangible cultural heritage in formal and non-formal education. The aim is to integrate this dynamic living heritage across the school curriculum and programmes to increase educational relevance and contributes to attaining Sustainable Development Goal 4. Creating this synergy can drive innovative heritage safeguarding, ensure better learning outcomes, strengthen global citizenship and peace education and appreciation for cultural diversity in line with target 4.7. It can also improve resilience in times of crisis.
This panel showcases recent initiatives supported by our partners around the globe. It aims to inspire new partnerships for more projects at the important junction of education and living heritage to meet growing demand.
