The TVET Strategy National Team Meeting in Khartoum

On 17 September 2018, the UNESCO Khartoum organized the fifth National Team meeting on TVET Strategy Development in Khartoum, on the UNESCO Khartoum premises, to discuss different follow-ups of the TVET Strategy workshop conducted on July 2018, in frameworks of the project for Strengthening TVET System in Sudan, funded by the UNESCO’s Capacity in Education (Cap-ED) Programme.

The participatory and interactive meeting provided a floor for discussions to the National Team, and international expert, Dr. Ahmed El Ashmawi, outlining the process and methodology for the Sudanese National TVET Strategy to be developed. The expert stressed on the importance of involving the private sector in the process, represented by the big national corporations, business unions such as the Sudanese Businessmen and Employers Federation, and Ministries of Finance, Labor and Industries.

During his mission to Khartoum, Dr. El Ashmawi met some private sector representatives: Saria Industries, DAL Food, CTC, and others. They all expressed their eagerness for collaborating with the National Team for improving the TVET System in Sudan and for engaging in the UNESCO’s TVET project.
