UNESCO Director-General condemns killing of journalist Ashiqul Islam in Bangladesh
The journalist was attacked and killed, by a group of assailants wielding knives in a park in Brahmanbaria, in the Chattogram district while he was returning home in an auto-rickshaw.
Islam had been working as a district correspondent for the Daily Monitor and as a reporter for local daily outlet Brahmanbaria Patrika.
