UNESCO Director-General condemns killing of journalist Sun Lin in China

Journalists worldwide play a critical role in providing essential information to populations. Authorities have a duty to ensure their safety, and investigate and prosecute those who attack them.

Sun Lin, 68, was a journalist and social communicator who had previously worked for several media outlets, including Boxun News Network, Borderless and others. He was reportedly injured following an intervention by police at his home, and died in hospital.
