The of The Economist partnered with UNESCO for the 2021/2022 Global Report, conducting key research focused on media viability and publishing a stand-alone .
FREE PRESS UNLIMITED
Aiming to influence state and political actors through joint advocacy, seeks healthy environments for independent media. Supported by the IPDC, it asked media leaders in 10 countries for their proposals to preserve media viability without compromising editorial independence and journalistic integrity.
THE GLOBAL FORUM FOR MEDIA DEVELOPMENT (GFMD)
The is the biggest global community of media development and journalism support organisations. Through collaboration, coordination, and collective action, GFMD’s network creates, promotes, and delivers policies and programmes to sustain journalism as a public good. Supported by the IPDC and MDP, GFMD is organizing several roundtables to localize the policy brief “Finding the funds for journalism to thrive” and the findings of Free Press Unlimited, and Economist Impact.
WAN-IFRA
In November 2020 in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, UNESCO partnered with the (WAN-IFRA), to catalyze original research on the viability crisis and develop a framework for solutions.
