The risk map has been designed to issue alerts on the risks that threaten the region's documentary heritage. Those alerts publicize the risk to which the documentary heritage is exposed, including natural disasters. These resources raise awareness and influence both regionally and internationally on the need to develop risk management plans, develop response protocols for natural disasters, and, in general, improve management capabilities and public policies for greater protection of heritage in memory institutions (archives, libraries and museums).
