Journalists play an essential part in nurturing and upholding democratic governance. They deserve every necessary protection.

Zogo, who directed the privately-owned Radio Amplitude, was the host of Embouteillage, a programme on public affairs. He is reported to have been kidnapped on 17 January, four days before his body was found.
