UNESCO Beirut participates in the Visualize 2030 Youth Camp
UNESCO, together with UNICEF, UNFPA and WFP joined hands with UNDP鈥檚 Arab Development Portal (ADP) in organizing the 3rd edition of the 鈥淰isualize 2030鈥 camp (Beirut, 10-14 Oct 2019). As part of its operational strategy on youth and namely through the programme of Management of Social Transformations (MOST), UNESCO supports the meaningful participation of young men and women in evidence-based policy-making to promote social inclusion, thus leaving no one behind.
A group of 65 youth professionals in graphic design and communication, as well as youth activists from 14 Arab States (38 males and 27 females), were trained in data analysis and communication to produce data-driven advocacy tools on specific SDGs both in national and regional contexts. They competed in 24 teams to present an innovative and creative message and audio-visual content on a particular SDG.
An award-distribution ceremony took place on the last day of the camp, in presence of Minister of State for Investment and Information Technology Mr. Adel Afiouni. 鈥淗arf鈥, a team of three Yemeni youth won the first prize by advocating for the power of education of both young girls and boys in building peace in a war-torn country.
