UNESCO Regional Office in Bangkok Snapshots 2023
In the Asia-Pacific region that is home to almost two-thirds of the world’s population, UNESCO’s mandates are as dynamic and diverse as the populations we serve.
Supported by national offices based in Phnom Penh and Ha Noi and an antenna office in Yangon, the UNESCO Regional Office in Bangkok (UNESCO Bangkok) implements the six areas of UNESCO programmes – education, natural sciences, ocean sciences, social and human sciences, culture, and communication and information – in Afghanistan, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, and Viet Nam.
Some of our mandates extend across the Asia-Pacific region, fostered through close collaboration among the UNESCO field network in 14 countries and the UNESCO National Commissions of 46 Member States and three Associate Members.
