Global Action Plan
The provides a strategic framework, outlines major actions, and guides the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of activities for UN-system entities, national governments, Indigenous peoples鈥 organizations, civil society, academia, and the private sector.
The Global Action Plan calls for a coherent approach and for joint collaborative action on the part of all stakeholders to achieve maximal positive impact and social change with respect to Indigenous languages and those who speak and sign them.
The Global Action Plan suggests ten interlinked themes that enlarge the functional scope of Indigenous languages usage across socio-cultural, economic, environmental, legal and political domains, applying an interdisciplinary approach:


for applying their languages and knowledge to the eradication of hunger

for digital empowerment and the right of expression in Indigenous Languages




An environment for the contribution of indigenous languages to the protection of biodiversity


through the preservation, revitalization and promotion of Indigenous languages
