About UNESCO in Uzbekistan
Since joining UNESCO in 1993, Uzbekistan has strengthened its cooperation through the UNESCO Office established in 1996. The Office supports key projects in education, media reform, and heritage preservation, and helps promote cultural diversity and sustainable development across the country.
All about UNESCO's action in the region
In partnership with the Government of Uzbekistan, UNESCO established the prestigious UNESCO-Uzbekistan Beruniy Prize to recognize and celebrate exceptional contributions and outstanding efforts to the ethics of AI research, scientific cooperation and practical application at all levels.
Because learning is much more than acquiring critical and creative cognitive skills, UNESCO is helping to change education by training teachers to integrate self-reflection, empathy and ethical decision-making into their classrooms.
