The Collection consists of nearly 4,000 documents from the personal archive of Gerardo Matos Rodriguez, Uruguayan author of the tango "La Cumparsita" and other 70 works. 

It is a unique archive that preserves the heritage of the author of one the most well known tangos and also reveals the social and cultural history of his time, as well as his struggle in defense of his author rights.
