A list of the instruments that are sent from these kingdoms of Spain to the Americas for the new establishment of the Casa de Moneda in the Imperial Villa of Potosi, 18th Century

Registration Year: 2022
ID: 193/2022
Institution: Casa Nacional de Moneda

This inventory of 1750 contains the most important, methodically detailed information of the rolling mills, which undertook a journey from Spain on October 3, 1750, "tramontando" the Atlantic Ocean for unloading in the port of Buenos Aires, a journey that follows on the back of a mule from sea level to 4000 meters high from the Imperial Villa of Potosí, to be installed in the second Mint. The document amazes by its punctual reference of each of the 86 boxes, 109 thirds, and two iron levers.

Additionally, we must highlight the arrival in Potosí, of the tools numbered in security drawers in which artifacts were dispatched to test gold and silver with all the necessary machinery to produce for the first time perfect circular coins with the coat of arms of the king and the crowned worlds of the Spanish empire.

This inventory of 6 folios, can be scientifically and academically verified, because, the Mint of Potosí is proud to have in its numismatic collection the only original laminating machines of the eighteenth century existing in the world, which makes this postulation relevant for all academics on the planet.
