The "Los Acevedo" Historical Film Archive of Colombia (1915-1955), consisting of 34 hours of 35mm film, contains records of local, national and international interest events thanks to the filming work of the enterprising Acevedo family, filmmakers and film pioneers in Colombia.

Between 1920 and 1955, the Acevedo´s produced fictions, documentaries, newsreels, institutional, educational and advertising films. The archive offers a glimpse of the social, cultural and political life of Colombia. The important moments of this historical documentation are also related to Ecuador, Venezuela, Peru, Panama and to characters from Argentina and Mexico, among others. This audio-visual fonds preserves the oldest films known to have been premiered in Colombia: The procession or parade of Corpus Christi (1915), by Di Domenico Brothers.

‘Colombian Facts for the Eyes and Ears of the Americas’ was the slogan used by the film company, "Acevedo e Hijos", to present its "National Newsreel", a phrase that captures the essence of the legacy of this family of filmmakers.
