Walter Pinto Archive
The "Walter Pinto Archive" collects texts, programs, scores and photographs of artists and shows, along with administrative documents of the Walter Pinto Company. This archive covers approximately sixty years of revue theater productions in Brazil and neighboring Latin American countries.
The Walter Pinto Company's heyday took place in the 1940s and 1950s, a period of great activity that brought together numerous Brazilian and Latin American vedettes in its various magazines.
In addition to its relevance to the history of Brazilian theater, this archive represents a primary source of information on the professionalization of magazine theater, since it contains documents that record diverse processes of creation and production of shows. Likewise, Walter Pinto's theater company played an important role in the dissemination of music and popular culture, promoting actors and singers who stood out in their time, both in Brazil and in neighboring countries.
