The fifth edition of the Latin American and Caribbean Film Festival (SALC 2025) will take place from 2 to 6 June 2025 at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris. The festival, held as part of Latin American and Caribbean Week at UNESCO, celebrates the region鈥檚 vibrant creativity and cultural expressions through cinema.
The theme of this year鈥檚 festival is 鈥淏iocultural Diversity of Latin America and the Caribbean鈥, which highlights the richness of the region鈥檚 intertwined natural and cultural heritage through a selection of documentaries, short films and feature-length productions. The official opening will take place on 3 June at 3:00 pm.
The festival showcases visual works by filmmakers from across Latin America and the Caribbean region, but also features films from the Asia Pacific region highlighting interregional cooperation.
The week-long event is also honouring the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, and will be promoted on the dedicated web site and promoted via the Group of Latin America and the Caribbean (GRULAC)鈥檚 social media channels: and .
