Related Documents
The Historical Archive of the Inter-American Children's Institute (IIN) contains two outstanding groups: the documentation of the Pan American Children's Congresses (1905 - 1999) and the IIN Bulletins (1927 -2001).
The IIN is a specialized Organization in matters of childhood and adolescence of the Organization of American States (OAS), assisting States in the development of public policies, contributing to their design and their implementation, from the perspective of the promotion, protection and respect for the rights of children. girls and adolescents.
From its beginnings, it highlighted the need for a study and consultation center that would collect everything that was carried out regarding children in America. For the Institute, documents are an end in themselves and fundamental tools to meet its objectives. In its documentation you can explore the networks built to defend the rights of children, also seeing the political, social, cultural and economic changes of the entire 20th century reflected.
The IIN Historical Archive and its descriptive instruments are a fundamental source of research as demonstrated by the various testimonies of childhood researchers around the world.
